Retrace the steps of Leonardo to his native village Anchiano, near Vinci, where he was born in 1452 and where he spent his childhood. Follow him to Florence, where he trained in Verrocchio's workshops. Meet Leonardo in Milan, where he worked for 18 years for Ludovico Sforza, the Duke of Milan, as an engineer, painter and organiser of sumptuous feasts. Meet him in Rome where he stayed many times from 1513 to 1516 and look at St-Jerome painted by Leonardo da Vinci (Vatican Gallery). Just as he did, cross the Alps from Italy to France for his last journey. Explore his last residence, the Château du Clos Lucé in Amboise, France, where at the invitation of the king François I he spent the last three years of his life working on his countless passions (1516 -1519), he died at Clos Lucé on 2nd of may 1519. Pay a final homage to the great man in the Chapel of Saint Hubert at the royal Château d'Amboise, where he is buried. |
